Enrolling in the Deferred Compensation Plan


Each year you elect to participate, you make three elections during the open enrollment window:

  • DEFERRALS: Choose what percentage of your base pay, commissions (if eligible) and/or bonus you want to defer. You make a separate election for each type of compensation. Learn more
  • DISTRIBUTIONS: Choose how and when you want your deferrals to be paid to you. Learn more

Your deferral elections are irrevocable for the year and cannot be changed until the next enrollment window. You may want to consult with your personal tax advisor or financial planner before you enroll.

Key information about the enrollment window: December 1-16, 2011

During this window, you can elect to defer:

  1. 2012 base pay
  2. 2012 commissions (if eligible)
  3. Company Performance Bonus or Executive Annual Incentive Bonus earned during 2012 (paid in August 2012 and March 2013)

The Deferred Compensation Plan is a nonqualified plan, making it exempt from certain IRS limitations and requirements. Assets of the Plan are held in a grantor trust established by Juniper Networks. The Plan is not qualified under IRS regulations. Any account established for you under the Plan would be subject to the claims of Juniper Networks’ creditor(s) in the event of a bankruptcy filed by Juniper Networks. Please call Fidelity Investments at 800-835-5097, Monday through Friday (excluding New York Stock Exchange holidays) between 8:30 a.m. and midnight, Eastern time (5:30 a.m. and 9 p.m., Pacific time) to speak with a Service Center representative for specific provisions of the plan.
