How It Works

Juniper’s Deferred Compensation Plan is a “nonqualified" plan available only to a select group of U.S.-based, highly compensated employees. You are eligible to participate if you are a senior director (or equivalent) or higher.

You can defer a percentage of your base pay, commissions (if eligible) and bonuses to this Plan, and select investments for your plan account. You receive the compensation you defer at a later date, when it will be taxed as regular income.

• As a highly compensated employee, IRS limits on your 401(k) contributions may not allow you to save enough for retirement. That’s where the Deferred Compensation Plan comes in. This plan allows you to defer substantially more than you would be able to defer to a 401(k) plan. What does this mean for you? Additional flexibility and control – you can use the Deferred Compensation Plan for future expenses or to offset other forms of income.
